Minister of Culture and Church Affairs Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen will open the exhibition. It takes place at Dronninglund Kunstcenter from 12pm to 2pm.
During the private view and until 5pm I will perform a monumental painting directly on the wall. The finished work can be experienced throughout the exhibition period, after which it is painted over. In the picture as seen above is a new series of speed-paintings called Open Outcry from my new and very nice studio.
I also show other works, just as 12 other contemporary artists participate with a selection of their own works.
TRANSPARENCY The exhibition “Transparency” is based on a desire for an artistic space, where reflection, contemplation and pause are paramount.
The concept of transparency must be understood quite broadly and both concretely and symbolically. Some works are transparent, others are more compact, some thematize transparency, others show it concretely.
We live in a time where it is difficult to see through life and the world around us, and also to find our way in the world as individuals. Time and society are constantly changing, we are looking for a kind of peace of mind and not least the opportunity to relate to ourselves and each other and understand our place in society. In a hectic and stressful time with a huge global amount of information about both good and bad, we need a place to breathe and take in the beauty and thoughtfulness.
Transparency covers something that is “behind” the form of appearance; there is more than that which first meets the eye. We invite you to explore what the 13 artists actually express. The quiet message of this exhibition is that in reflection, sensation and the encounter with transparency, we are given the opportunity to stop and feel: What is it that I want to “see”?
The initiator of the exhibition “Transparency”, the artist Ann-Lisbeth Albek Sanvig, has in collaboration with curator Connie Boe Boss set the team of professional and dedicated contemporary artists:
