SCULPTURE

Installation view 2023 / Gammelgaard (Dk) / Photographer: Bjørn Envoldsen

Mia-Nelle Drøschler’s artistic journey took a captivating turn in 2017 when she began to explore her talents through the medium of installation art. In a pivotal moment, she arranged a collection of intricate clay creatures on a table, and this marked the inception of a new dimension in her creative practice. It was an epiphany that would soon evolve into a profound exploration of sculptural art.

These sculptures, meticulously fashioned from recycled materials such as paper and glue, take on an organic and nature-inspired quality. Mia-Nelle infuses each piece with patterns and motifs drawn from mythology, reflecting her extensive engagement with art history and the way civilizations have, over the ages, harnessed artifacts to connect with profound spiritual dimensions.

While Mia-Nelle’s sculptures offer a thoughtful homage to the past, they also possess a delightful and unexpected touch of humor and spontaneity. These elements embody her deep-seated passion for embracing playfulness and intuition, allowing her artistic expression to roam free. The result is a rich tapestry of art that not only speaks to the soul but also sparks joy and wonder.
